How the 36 points are distributed

Nadi and Bhakoot are weighted highest for a reason. Classical texts treat them as the two factors most likely to cause post-marriage strain if both are active and uncancelled.

What happens when Nadi dosha is active

The answer is simple. Both partners share the same Nadi type - Adi, Madhya, or Antya - and those 8 points become zero in the final match.

The arithmetic is blunt. A couple that would score 28 on all other kootas ends up at 20/36 with active Nadi. Eight points. Gone.

This is why a moderate score can surprise people. They assume something is wrong with temperament or attraction when the cause is Nadi. In practice, that changes how a pandit reads the result because the low number came from one heavy factor, not seven weak ones.

The 7 Nadi dosha cancellation conditions

1. Same nakshatra, different pada - if partners share nakshatra but fall in different padas, dosha cancelled.
2. Same rashi, different nakshatra - same Moon sign but different nakshatras cancels the concern.
3. Nakshatra lords are the same planet - when both partners share the same nakshatra ruling planet (Vimshottari lord).
4. Moon-sign lords are mutual friends - if the rashi lords are friendly in the Parashari table.
5. Strong benefic influence on the 7th house in both charts.
6. Jupiter aspects the 7th house or 7th lord in at least one chart.
7. Nakshatra-specific exemptions recognized in regional traditions (Rohini, Pushya, Hasta, Shatabhisha among common examples).
