How Yoni Is Scored
Each of the 27 nakshatras is assigned a yoni (animal symbol): Horse, Elephant, Sheep, Snake, Dog, Cat, Rat, Cow, Buffalo, Tiger, Hare, Monkey, Lion, Mongoose. Matching yonis score 4 points. Friendly yonis score 3 points. Neutral yonis score 2 points. Enemy yonis score 1 point. Hostile yonis score 0 points.
Why Yoni Matters
Yoni carries 4 points and is considered moderately important in Ashtakoot matching. It relates to physical harmony and intimate compatibility. Enemy or hostile yoni combinations (0-1 points) are considered unfavorable for physical compatibility but not as serious as Nadi Dosha. Traditional pandits often examine yoni alongside Nadi before recommending marriage.
