Frequently asked questions
How is this different from a generic vivah muhurat list?
A generic muhurat list publishes the same dates for everyone in India. It checks panchang conditions — tithi, nakshatra, yoga — but does not know who the couple is. A couple-specific calculator cross-references panchang conditions with both partners' birth nakshatras and Lagna conditions. Dates that are universally auspicious but create a tara dosha for one partner's birth nakshatra are filtered out. Dates that are moderately auspicious universally but strongly aligned with both charts are ranked higher.
What does the calculator check?
Nakshatra compatibility of both partners on the candidate date, tithi and yoga strength, vara (weekday) suitability, Rahu Kaal exclusion, Chaturmas and Shukra Ast period exclusion, and whether the Lagna on that date is favorable for both charts. The result is 5 dates ranked by how well they align with the specific couple.
Do I need exact birth times?
No. Birth nakshatras are determined primarily by the Moon's position, which is usually stable across most of a birth day. Birth time within 3-4 hours gives accurate results. If you have no birth time, the calculator uses a noon chart — results will be 90% accurate for nakshatra-based filtering, with some uncertainty around Lagna.
Can I share the results with my family?
Yes. The paid PDF report is formatted for sharing on WhatsApp. It includes date, nakshatra, tithi, vara, and a brief explanation of why each date was selected — readable by both tech-savvy and traditional family members.
